Six cafés, not six hundred

Why the list is short

Most gift card marketplaces optimise for catalogue size. For coffee that is the wrong metric: a card is a recommendation, and recommending a café nobody has sat in is worthless. We carry six and we have had coffee at all six, more than once.

Why cards are café-specific

A card that works "anywhere in the network" sounds better and is worse. The café does not know what it is honouring, settlement gets complicated, and the recipient ends up with a balance instead of a plan. One card, one café.

Why independents

Chain coffee cards are already easy to buy anywhere. What is hard to buy is a card for the café that remembers an order, roasts its own beans, or will spend ten minutes helping someone dial in a grinder at home. That care is the product.

Where the money sits

Cafés are paid when you buy. Funds backing unredeemed cards are held separately from operating money. It costs us float, and it is why we can promise a refund if a partner closes.
