How it works

Three steps, about two minutes

  1. Pick the café

Cards are café-specific. The café knows exactly what it is honouring and gets paid for it at the point of sale.

  2. Set an amount

Anything from $10 to $500, plus a message and a send date if you want one.

  3. It sends itself

Email on the date you choose, or print it at home and hand it over.

What it is good for

The gift people actually finish

  • Thank-yous

For the neighbour who fed the cat, the teacher at the end of term, or the friend who helped you move. A week of good coffee says it better than another candle.

  • Team rewards

Bulk orders for an office or a crew, invoiced rather than paid on a card. People spend a card for the café on their commute; a generic voucher ends up in a drawer.

  • Birthdays and holidays

The default gift for anyone with opinions about oat milk, and the one that does not get regifted.

  • New to the neighbourhood

A card for the local café is a welcome and a recommendation in one. They will have a usual order within a week.

Questions

How is the card delivered?

By email, to whoever you nominate, at the time you choose. Send it now or schedule it up to a year ahead. There is a printable version if you would rather hand it over.

Does it expire?

No. Funds do not expire and there are no dormancy, inactivity or maintenance fees at any point. Federal law sets a floor here and we sit well above it.

Can it be used at any café on the site?

No. Each card is issued for one specific café and redeemable only there. That is deliberate — the café is paid for your card and knows exactly what it is honouring.

Can it be used on beans, gear or classes?

Yes at every café on this list, including whole-bean coffee, brewing gear and classes. Third-party delivery orders and private-hire deposits are excluded; anything else is noted on the page for that café.

What if the café closes?

Outstanding balances for a closed partner are refunded to the original purchaser. We hold funds against issued cards rather than booking them as revenue, which is what makes that possible.

Can I check the balance?

Yes, on the balance page, using the card number alone. You will never need a PIN, and we will never ask for a card number or PIN by email, text or phone.
